Getting to Le Vaugrat Campsite

Getting to the Isle of Guernsey can be done by sea or by air. Below we have provided some useful information as to how you can can book your trip to the island. We have also provided some instructions on how to get to our campsite when you are on the Isle of Guernsey. 

By Sea

Condor Ferries is the main ferry service provider.  The company operates both fast and conventional ferries, with sailings from Poole, Postsmouth & St Malo.  Fast ferry crossings from Poole, take around three hours.  Direct crossings from St Malo take just over two hours.

If you prefer a more leisurely pace, then the conventional ferry sailing from Portsmouth will undertake the trip in around 6 hours.

Please note that Condor Ferries require all passengers to have photo ID when checking in.

Seasonal sailings are also offered by Manche Iles Express from Dilette, Carteret and Granville in Normandy, France.

By Air

Guernsey is served by a number of airlines with Aurigny and Blue Islands providing flights from a variety of major and regional UK airports. During the season, flights from continental destinations are also often available.

How to Find Us

Once on the island and depending on your mode of transport we have provided some instructions below as to how you can get to Le Vaugrat Campsite. 

By Car, Motorhome or Caravan

Below is a map and route using these directions. This is the best route to follow avoiding narrow lanes that are not suitable for larger vehicles. 

By Public Transport

Should you wish to use the bus, please use the routes shown below.  You will need to get off at Les Vardes bus stop.  If in doubt, ask the driver for Le Vaugrat Campsite.  Further information on bus routes can be obtained from buses.gg

From the Harbour

  • Routes 31 or 32
  • Route 91 (round Island)

From the Airport

  • Route 91

Terms & Conditions Vaugrat Campsite

Cancellation Policy

Changes and cancellations to bookings made up to 7 Days before the arrival date/time are without charge. Thereafter an amount equal to the value of your first night accommodation may be charged. The total value of the booking may be charged if changes/cancellations are made with less than 48 Hours notice.

Other Policies
  • Dogs are not accepted.
  • NO PAYMENT is taken at the time of booking or prior to arrival. Full payment must be made when checking in.
  • Credit card details provided as part of the booking process may be used in line with our cancellation policy as a guarantee for a future payment in the case of a no-show, a cancellation, change to the reservation or in the event of non-payment.
  • Seasonal workers, school parties and youth groups are not accepted.
  • Motorhomes and caravans must meet the relevant conditions and limitations applicable in respect of length and width of vehicles and duration of stay as set out at on our accommodation page
  • Persons hiring a fully equipped tent are responsible for the safe keeping and cleaning of the tent and equipment during the hire period. Hired equipment must not leave the site and tents and equipment must be left in a clean condition.
  • The proprietors accept no responsibility for loss, damage, injury, theft or fire to either persons or property of the campers and shall not be liable for death or injury to persons or damage to property caused by any equipment hired. Third party insurance is the responsibility of the hirer.
  • The proprietors reserve the right at all times, and at their complete discretion, to request that persons should leave the premises.
Motorhomes & Touring Caravans
  • Motorhome & Caravan users must obtain a permit which will be required to embark and disembark the ferry and reside on the site. Permits are issued by Vaugrat Campsite.
  • The width of any motorhome must not exceed 2.3 metres (excluding mirrors and indicators).  The length must not exceed 9.45 metres.
  • The width of any caravan must not exceed 2.3 metres (excluding mirrors and indicators).  The combined length of the towing vehicle and caravan must not exceed 12.19 metres.
  • Motorhomes are allowed to circulate on the Island on a daily basis but must return to the designated campsite each night.
  • Caravans are restricted to one journey to and one journey from the campsite to port while on the Island
  • The length of stay cannot exceed one month.
